Melania And Barron To Move Into The White House On Donald’s Birthday

I’ve gotta be honest, I’ve been excited about this, and it’s finally happening!

After a long and unconventional delay, Melania Trump is joining her husband at the White House with their 11-year-old son on the president’s birthday, and promises it will be a celebration he will ‘never forget’.

 

The first lady and Barron are reportedly moving into the White House on Wednesday, which will be President Donald Trump’s 71st birthday, an occasion he’s been known in the past to celebrate lavishly.

 

‘I need your help to make it a birthday my husband will never forget,’ Melania Trump wrote in an email to supporters on Thursday, urging ‘loyal’ friends to sign a birthday card for her husband.

 

‘You have certainly proven yourself to be a loyal friend of my husband through your support of his positive vision to Make America Great Again and your unwavering commitment to the Republican Party,’ the first lady’s email added.

 

The arrival in DC of the first lady, who is described as ‘extremely protective’ of her husband in a recent Politico report, has White House watchers speculating that she could bring a measure of calm to a presidency convulsed by early controversies.

Say what you will about President Trump, I actually have a huge soft spot for Melania.

For one, her fashion is absolutely impeccable. Does that matter politically? Not really,  but when it comes to FLOTUS fashion, Melania has returned an aesthetic sophistication to the role not seen since Jackie. I mean, every picture of her is absolutely iconic, and I LOVE IT.

I found her trip to the Vatican incredibly touching. I was raised Catholic in Mexico, so the pictures of her clutching the rosary beads from her wedding truly spoke to my heart.

Finally, I admire that above all, she is a devoted mother. I truly respect her decision to stay in NYC for the remainder of Barron’s school year. She got a lot of criticism for that, but she stood firm for her son.

Many will criticize her for a past that is less than “ladylike.” As I’ve said before, I was a FLAMING liberal in my youth. Was I ever in nude magazine spreads? No, of course not, but I have certainly done and said things who don’t represent who I am now…. and so have most women. In a time where all of your mistakes may be recorded on the internet and haunt you forever, Melania has come out of her scandals with her head held high, with grace and dignity.

Melania is a FLOTUS for the 21st century, and I love her for that. I can’t wait to see what she brings to the White House.
