May 13, 2017After President Trump fired James Comey, the Senate Intelligence Committee invited the former FBI Director to testify before the panel in a closed session next week. (Sens. Richard Burr and Mark Warner officially extended the invitation.) The panel hoped that Comey would discuss the controversy surrounding his sudden termination.
As it turns out, Comey won’t attend. He declined the invitation.
Warner announced that Comey would not be appearing before his panel in an interview on MSNBC Friday.
The session would have provided Comey a first chance to discuss with lawmakers the circumstances of his firing.
I wonder if his decision had anything to do with the tweet seen around the world.
James Comey better hope that there are no “tapes” of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!

I hate to say it, but I really do want to hear what Comey has to say for once. Call me curious.
Update: It sounds like Comey is willing to testify, but only in a PUBLIC hearing.
