This is sweet.
On Saturday, President Trump, along with FLOTUS, visited the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland to award Sergeant 1st Class Alvaro Barrientos with a purple heart. He was wounded in Afghanistan March 17, after an Afghan soldier opened fire “inside a base in the Helmand province.” His right leg– below the knee– had to be amputated.
Trump was so moved by his story, he insisted on awarding Barrientos himself. It’s a very moving thing to watch.
God bless you Barrientos, and thank you for your service.
