President Trump Invites Families Of People Killed By Illegal Immigrants To His Speech

Not gonna lie, I kind of love this.

So, the Democrats have decided to be all virtue-signal-y and invite a bunch of poor, defenseless illegal immigrants to President Trump’s speech tonight to show how MEEEEEEEEAN Trump is to immigrants. This is a tactic as old as the hills – Democrats trot out some pathetic sob story to make Republicans look like terrible, brutish monsters. Yawn.

Turns out that two can play at that extremely political game. According to this, the president has a few invited guests of his own. Namely the widows of two police officers killed by illegal immigrants in 2014 –

President Trump has invited the family members of those killed by illegal immigrants and the widow of Justice Antonin Scalia to attend his address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night.

Maureen McCarthy Scalia will attend the speech, along with Jessica Davis and Susan Oliver — both widows of California police officers killed by an illegal immigrant in 2014.

The president is expected to highlight his campaign to deport illegal immigrants who have committed crimes in the United States.

(I do love that he invited the widow of Justice Scalia as well. Nothing to do with  illegal immigration, but still a classy gesture.)

Is this kind of petty? Probably. But here’s my take – the Republicans have played nice with the Democrats for far too long. We tried to be reasonable. We tried to be fair. We tried to be civil. But the Democrats can’t help but be sneaky, underhanded little snakes. It’s time to play dirty like them.

And the truth is that there are illegal immigrants committing crimes and harming American citizens. They have zero business being in this country. Yet even when they are deported, they come strolling right back over the border and camp out in places like San Francisco and New York City and other cities that turn a blind eye to these crimes simply because they’re “undocumented immigrants” and isn’t THAT what our country was founded on?

No, Sally Sob Story. Our country was NOT founded on illegal immigrants or criminals trying to escape justice. America was founded on individual rights and the rule of law. It’s insulting to every legal American citizen to insinuate that illegal immigrants breaking the rules are exactly the same as the people who came here through legitimate channels and proved that they deserved citizenship.

So, yes – let President Trump highlight the Actual Problems with illegal immigrants and how he plans to crack down on the issue. Take those stale talking points away from the Democrats and watch them wilt like delicate flowers in 100 degree heat.
