Nothing says “relevance” like a couple of vapid Hollywood weirdos throwing shade at each other over things that happened years ago.
If you didn’t know (and I certainly didn’t), at the Grammys Katy Perry apparently made fun of Britney Spears’s shaved head incident, which happened back in 2007. I guess it was supposed to explain why Perry hasn’t released an album since 2014 (oh no! Two whole years without a new Katy Perry album – EVERYBODY PANIC!)
Katy, who wore an attention-grabbing Tom Ford dress, had been explaining the long gap since her last album, 2014’s Prism.
‘There was a pause in the music for a little while,’ queried E!’s Ryan Seacrest.
Replied Katy: ‘Yeah that’s called taking care of your mental health.’
‘How’d that go?’ he asked, leading to Katy’s apparent reference to Britney: ‘Fantastic! And I haven’t shaved my head yet,’ she joked.
Fans on Twitter weren’t terribly pleased with Katy’s remarks –
Later, Britney Spears posted a picture of a sunset on Instagram with a verse from the Gospel of Luke –
And everybody decided to take it as Britney Spears casting shade at Katy Perry. Because… reasons? (I don’t speak catty Hollywood-Mean-Girl-ese, so I just took it as a nice picture and a Bible verse) –
And now you know what the deal is with Katy Perry and Britney Spears today. You’re welcome.
