December 28, 2016Secretary of State John Kerry just delivered his final foreign policy speech (praise be to God!) and talked about the United States slapping Israel in the face. (My words, not his.) He doesn’t believe we screwed Israel over. By refusing to veto the anti-Israel U.N. resolution, we helped Israel. We were preserving the possibility of a two-state solution! Duh! Wasn’t that obvious?
He basically spend the majority of the speech talking about the importance of a two-state solution, which sounds nice, but it’s not viable. Palestinians refuse to acknowledge Israel’s right to exist. So the Obama administration can stop blaming Israel for the lack of permanent peace any day now.
