December 28, 2016On Wednesday, President-elect Trump announced that Sprint will bring 5,000 jobs back to the United States, and OneWeb will be hiring 3,000 people.
“Because of what’s happening and the spirit and the hope, I was just called by the head people at Sprint and they’re going to be bringing 5,000 jobs back to the United States and taking them from other countries,” Trump told reporters outside his Mar-a-Lago estate on Wednesday. “They’re bringing them back to the United States and Masa and some other people were very much involved in that so I want to thank them. And OneWeb, a new company, is going to be hiring 3,000 people and that’s very exciting.”

According to Trump, the deal “was done through” SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son. If you recall, the Japanese company agreed to invest $50 billion in the United States, which will create 50,000 more jobs here at home. It’s still unclear if the 5,000 jobs are part of the 50,000 jobs promised earlier. Either way, this is good news!
