Hillary Clinton Wants To Talk About Being A Gracious Loser, Does She?

The big headline today is that Donald Trump implied that he might not accept the results of the election, unless he wins. And the Democrats – hypocrites that they are – are running around screaming about their recently-rediscovered moral core and why can’t Donald Trump be gracious in losing the election?!

People are even pointing to this very classy letter left by George HW Bush for Bill Clinton on Inauguration Day in 1993. Queen Hillary highlighted it back in June and her fangirls are waving it around now, like it’s supposed to prove something (it make take some time for the image to load. You may have noticed a letter that went viral on the internet this week. The letter is from George H.W. Bush’s presidential library. I hadn’t read it in a long time, until yesterday. It moved me to tears, just like it did all those years ago. It’s the letter that President Bush left in the Oval Office for my husband, back in January of 1993. They had just fought a fierce campaign. Bill won, President Bush lost. In a democracy, that’s how it goes. But when Bill walked into that office for the very first time as President, that note was waiting for him. It had some good advice about staying focused on what mattered, despite the critics. It wished him happiness. And it concluded with these words: “You will be our President when you read this note. I wish you well. I wish your family well. Your success is now our country’s success. And I am rooting hard for you. George.” That’s the America we love. That is what we cherish and expect.

Hillary lecturing Americans on civility in politics is a bit rich, seeing that – according to this – the Clintons did NOT extend the same gracious courtesy to George W. Bush in 2001 –

The Clintons’ own transition out of the White House tells the whole story. As reported in 2002, the General Accounting Office concluding that “damage, theft, vandalism and pranks did occur in the White House complex” during the presidential transition from Bill Clinton to George W. Bush. The cost of the damage totalled approximately $15,000, including thousands of dollars to replace damaged or stolen “W” keys on computer keyboards.

A presidential seal and several antique doorknobs were stolen from the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, graffiti deriding President Bush was found in men’s bathrooms. The GAO further documented desk drawers glued shut and obscene voicemail messages on White House telephones, all of which “clearly were intentional.” Although intentional damage constituted a criminal act under federal law, no perpetrators were prosecuted.

Republican congressman Bob Barr explained, “The Clinton administration treated the White House worse than college freshmen checking out of their dorm rooms.” When the GAO refused to produce details about the extent and character of the vandalism, the Bush administration flatly claimed, “It appears that the GAO has undertaken a concerted effort to downplay the damage found in the White House complex.”

Sheesh. The Clintons wouldn’t know class and grace if it flicked them on the nose.

I agree that we need more graciousness and civility in our political discourse. The sad thing is that – more often than not – Democrats take advantage of Republicans’ civility and use it as an opportunity to run roughshod over their opponents. I point to the example of Mitt Romney – a good, decent, upstanding man who never did anything intentionally harmful to anybody and just wanted to serve his country as president. But because he had the misfortune to run again the First Black President(tm) AND the Democrat machine, they made him out to be this super-wealthy villainous stereotype who let old women die of cancer and made his dog ride on the top of the family car.

If the Democrats’ monopoly on the narrative can destroy a genuinely good man like that, then what point is there in being nice at all?

Hillary and her mooks have NO PLACE to preach to the Republicans and Trump supporters about incivility in politics. If anything, her morality lectures ring hollow, when compared to her and her husband’s boorish and selfish actions.
