This is awful…
According to this, a New Jersey Transit train crashed into a train station early this morning. Officials have said there’s at least one dead and over a hundred people injured in the crash. It happened during the morning rush hour commute –
Photos posted to social media show damage to the rail car and extensive structural damage to the station. Part of the train train — No. 1614 on the Pascack Valley Line — appears to be on the platform.
Witnesses reported that as the train went into the station, it hit a concrete block with such force that it went airborne.
Officials told TheBlaze that the crash is being investigated as an accident although the actual cause of the crash is not yet clear.
Mike Larson, a transit employee told reporters Thursday that it’s unclear why the train did not stop. He did confirm that the train was traveling “definitely faster than it should have been.”
“It was going considerably faster than it normally is supposed to,” Larson, who witnessed the crash, said.

As bad as this is, I hope the cause is down to simple human error and it’s not a terrorist attack or something equally as horrible. I’m sure we’ll find out more details as the day goes on. As always, prayers going up!
