I’ll be honest, I was legitimately NOT expecting this. At all.
According to a new CBS/NYT poll, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are tied right now. Not virtually tied, depending on a margin of error. Like – for real. 40% one way, 40% another –
There’s a lot to digest here (and the picture is kind of tiny – apologies for that). It shows that Trump and Hillary are tied at 40%, where last month, Hillary led Trump 43-37.
Six point lead lost for the Queen. That’s kind of a big deal. But one thing that’s interesting to me is that Hillary was at 50 in April and Trump was at 40 – Trump has kind of stayed level, while Hillary has dropped over the past few months.
And yes, this is a national average and if you take polls of individual states, it’ll paint a different picture. But still – a TIE?
Another part of this poll that I’m interested in is the fact that 90% of Trump voters say that their minds are made up, while 88% of Hillary voters said the same thing. So, there aren’t a lot of people left to convince one way or the other before November –
For all the talk that Trump is unlikable and unelectable, it looks like Hillary is even more unlikable and possibly just as unelectable as people have said Trump is. Not a good place to be when you’ve been proclaiming your presidential inevitability for over twenty years…
