Second Amendment For The Win: Oregon Mother Shoots Home Intruder

According to that sourcelink, an Oregon mother shot and killed an intruder after coming home and finding him hiding in her child’s bedroom.

The police responded to the incident 1:47 a.m. Sunday. The mother was entering the home with her two children, 5 and 10, when she spotted the man and used her handgun to shoot him. The police found the man dead.

Amber Murray, a neighbor, told KOIN 6 News that there had been “a few squatters in and out of [the home]” before the mother and her daughters moved in.

 

Police have not identified the intruder, but his name is expected to be released after his family is notified. An autopsy of the suspect is scheduled for Monday, according to AP.

 

Police are still investigating the incident and will present the case to the Multnomah County District Attorney, NBC News reports. Authorities say the mother has been cooperating with police in the investigation and has not been arrested.

Squatter or not, there’s no room for error when it comes to a home intruder. That mother isn’t some crazy gun nut. She exercised her Second Amendment rights to protect her children, and I commend her for it.
