I’ve only been pulled over twice in my life. I was going four miles over the speed limit in my own neighborhood the first time. I did nothing wrong the second time. I switched lanes in a weird way or something. I’m still convinced the officer just pulled me over because she was bored.
Both times, I got off with a warning. I haven’t had to experience the pain of paying a ticket, and I don’t plan to anytime soon.
But this guy? He got slapped with a big ol’ fine, and decided to protest against it by paying with thousands of pennies.
Texas man Brett Sanders was slapped with a ticket after he was caught driving nine miles per hour over the speed limit in his neighborhood.
He tried to fight the ticket in court, but it didn’t work out so well. If you’re speeding, you’re speeding.
“I didn’t hurt anybody. I didn’t endanger anybody’s life,” he said.
Once he realized he had to pay the fine, he decided to have some fun with it.
“When my fine came due, I just decided I may as well pay with pennies and we’ll make a big spectacle of it,” Sanders said.
So he shoved 22,000 pennies into five-gallon buckets and paid his dues at the Frisco Municipal Court.
“It felt great. It really felt great,” Sanders said.
“I’m just going to go ahead and let them keep that,” Sanders said.
I don’t care you who are. That’s the most hilarious a**hatty thing ever.
