MasterCard has released this video of a robot waitress taking a fast food order from a customer, just to show that the technology is possible and a lot closer than people think. And darned if “Pepper” doesn’t sound a lot nicer and more polite than those whiny protesters demanding to be paid $15/hour to ask “Do you want fries with that?”

Granted, this looks like it’s just a prototype so far. Not sure how long it’ll be before it’s ready to be put to more widespread use. But like the former McDonald’s CEO said – it’ll sure cost a lot less than paying low-skilled and inefficient employees $15/hour.
If the government is going to dictate what business owners should pay their employees, then business owners are going to find new ways to get around it. That’s just a fact of life.
