In case you haven’t heard, ESPN fired baseball analyst Curt Schilling for daring to suggest that grown men shouldn’t use the same restroom as little girls.
He shared this meme and wrote, “A man is a man no matter what they call themselves. I don’t care what they are, who they sleep with, men’s room was designed for the penis, women’s not so much. Now you need laws telling us differently? Pathetic.”
The horror, I know.
According to ESPN, that’s “unacceptable” conduct, and they simply cannot employ someone who isn’t “inclusive.”
This is the same ESPN that re-signed former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis a couple of years ago. You know. Ray Lewis. The guy who was “indicted on murder and aggregated assault charges for a double-murder in 2000.” As the story goes, he reached a plea deal but admitted to lying to police and paid a $250,000 fine to the NFL.
(And for the record, this isn’t so much about Lewis as it is the hypocrisy of ESPN.)
That being said, this cartoon NAILS it.
Maybe ESPN will hire Aaron Hernandez next?
