Doesn’t matter that it’s white men that are being discriminated against. Discrimination is discrimination, pure and simple.
(And here I thought Canadians were supposed to be generally nice people. HA!)
According to this, senior writer for BuzzFeed Canada (and, evidently, all-around social justice douchecanoe) Saachi Koul posted a job opening on Twitter and said that they were looking for writers who specifically were not white and not male. The tirade just went downhill from there –
Not sure how excluding one group of people is supposed to “fix” history. History is what it is and there’s no “fixing” it. It’s done. It’s had it’s time. You don’t fix the mistakes of the past by perpetuating them in the future. You learn from those mistakes and do better. You don’t repeat the same thing over and over and call it “justice.” You just look like an idiot.
But there you are. You call out a progressive social justice nut out on their racism and sexism and they turn into a babbling pile of insanity. Or they just let the mask fall entirely because that’s what they were the entire time.
What’s the career punch-up for writing for BuzzFeed, anyway? You get to say “I curated cat videos and lists of ’90s nostalgia”? Whoo. Hoo.
UPDATE: Saachi Koul has since deleted her Twitter account. She sure could talk a big game, but could take the criticism, I guess –
