Amy Schumer is, in case you hadn’t noticed, Hollywood’s new favorite darling. She’s winning awards and being hailed as some amazing feminist icon and is standing up with Obama to fight for gun control and she’s basically everything that progressive morons think is awesome.
And now she’s making 17 year old movie critics feel compelled to apologize to her.
Apparently, Jackson Murphy, also known as Lights Camera Jackson, posted a selfie he took with Amy Schumer at the Critics’ Choice Awards this past Sunday. And he made a joke about her as well. Behold:
See what he did there? He suggested that other guys have spent the night with Amy Schumer.
And so basically he did what Amy Schumer does at nearly every opportunity. Like here and here and here and here and here and here. (And that’s just what I found in like 5 minutes.) Amy Schumer’s entire career is based on her being completely open about sleeping with pretty much everyone. It’s what makes her a hero to feminist weirdos.
And yet, this pitiful 17 year old tries to make a joke about it, and Amy Schumer feigns outrage.
Her supporters went after Jackson Murphy, and so he was compelled to apologize:
Why was it a bummer? It’s a joke that is right up Amy’s alley, isn’t it? It’s the same kind of joke she makes about herself ALL THE FREAKING TIME. And yet now she’s got the liberal progressive media world writing article after article about how Jackson Murphy “slut-shamed” her.
I’m not kidding. Just look here and here and here and here and here. In that last link (to HuffPo) it says:
Schumer often jokes about her sex life in her stand-up set, and while it’s one thing to be known for a somewhat self-deprecating shtick about bedroom antics, it’s entirely different when someone else tries to make the same joke. That’s called slut-shaming.
Why? Why is that slut-shaming? Amy Schumer wants to be known as someone who speaks openly and brutally honestly about her sex life, does she not? She’s made her riches off of that. Why does she get to act like she’s a slut, talk like she’s a slut, BE a slut, and yet also get offended when people (gasp!) call her out for being a slut?
What kind of alternative universe do we freaking live in?
This is like me having a website called Chicks on the Right, co-hosting a show called Chicks on the Right, referring to myself as a Chick on the Right, running social media platforms under the name Chicks on the Right, and then LOSING MY MIND WITH OUTRAGE when someone else refers to me as a “Chick” because it’s sexist.
WTF.
If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, quacks like a duck – IT’S A FREAKING DUCK.
I’m disappointed Jackson Murphy felt the need to apologize for such a lame and tame joke, but such is the world we live in now, I suppose.
GAWD.
