So, Will Smith’s son, Jaden Smith, is the new face of the Louis Vuitton 2016 Spring/Summer women’s collection.
Yeah. You read that right. WOMEN’S collection. Here he is in a dress with a bunch of other models who are in desperate need of sandwiches:
Why is he dressing like a chick? Well, because nowadays, men can do anything that women can do, dontchaknow. Just ask Caitlyn Jenner, who was crowned Woman of the Year.
Neat.
Also, because according to Jaden (emphasis mine), “I’m just expressing how I feel inside, which is really no particular way because everyday it changes how I feel about the world and myself, but I like wearing super drapey things so I can feel as though I’m a super hero, but don’t have to necessarily wear super hero costumes everyday.”
Alrighty then.
Let the record show that Jaden (presumably) has a penis, and people think this is all sorts of neato that he’s wearing women’s clothing while looking perpetually stoned and comparing himself to Galileo.
In other news, Chris Hemsworth dressed as a Native American for a New Years Eve party. Here’s a picture that his wife, Elsa Pataky, posted on Instagram the other day of him doing just that with a bunch of his friends:
That’s Chris back left, and his wife in front of him. Looks like those people are having a super-fun time, right?
Well, they got ALLLLL sorts of crap for “cultural appropriation” and being whitey-white horrible super-duper-white people for dressing like Native Americans.
Which begs the question, ‘what about Jaden dressing like a chick?’
I mean, I’m a chick, and Jaden has a penis and he’s dressing like a chick. He’s appropriating MY GENDER. So isn’t that a form of cultural appropriation when we get down to the nitty gritty of it? Do I get to be outraged because Jaden is now taking modeling slots historically filled by WOMEN? Women that need actual jobs? Jaden doesn’t need a freaking JOB. He’s a rich celebrity kid. Give me a break. Where is the feminist outrage here? Where is the cultural appropriation outrage when these dudes dress like women just because they FEEEEEEEL like dressing like women? You know, because it makes them feel like a super-hero or something?
We all know that women are superheroes. Duh. But for men to start appropriating our superhero-ness? Where’s the outrage, feminists?
Where is it?
Because Jaden isn’t a superhero. And he isn’t a woman.
So, this is obviously a form of cultural appropriation, and someone, somewhere, needs to be pissed off. A liberal’s head in some corner of this country needs to be exploding, AmIright?
Because it simply doesn’t make any sense to me for you to be all pissed off at (really, really, ridiculously good looking) Chris Hemsworth and his wife and friends for dressing like Native Americans, then for you to not be equally pissed off at Jaden for dressing like a woman. And then stealing a poor woman’s modeling job.
There’s just so much to be pissed off at. And so much to be offended by. And so much cultural appropriation and irritability and offense to keep track of. (Well, other than terrorism and the national debt and the murdering of innocent babies. You know.)
I need a safe space.
