I have a tremendous amount of respect for Sen. Rand Paul. I always have. His foreign policy stance has always bothered me, but his devotion to the principles of the liberty is second to none.
His campaign never really took off, and I don’t think it ever will. I’m not particularly sure why it didn’t .
Sure, he’s a serious guy. He never really showed his more relaxed/humorous side, and while that’s not necessarily something that should qualify a person to be president, it’s how the system works. You have to come off both likable and relatable. And heck, a little self-deprecation never hurt.
Better late than never, I suppose.
I resolve to not let the mean things people say about my hair bother me. #curlyhairdontcare #newyearsresolution pic.twitter.com/HVMr0vYbOj

I’m sorry, but seeing Paul use the hashtag #curlyhairdontcare kills me. He also took some friendly shots at his fellow contenders.
I resolve to speak in vague but bombastic generalities more #newyearsresolution pic.twitter.com/AR741BUOvQ — Dr. Rand Paul (@RandPaul) January 1, 2016
I resolve to give @TedCruz more lead time before I announce my policy positions, so he can replicate them faster #NewYearsResolution

I resolve to spend less time voting in the Senate so @Marcorubio & @tedcruz don’t look bad bc they don’t show up for work. JK. Do your jobs. — Dr. Rand Paul (@RandPaul) January 1, 2016
Hopefully @TedCruz will resolve to issue that exec order declaring Canadian “bacon” is not real bacon. #StillSuspicious #newyearsresolution

^^Smart touching on America’s unending obsession with bacon. That should boost him at least 4 points in the polls. (Not really, but still.)
Congress should resolve to dissolve, go part time and go home more to live under the utterly ridiculous laws they pass. #newyearsresolution — Dr. Rand Paul (@RandPaul) January 1, 2016
Finally, I resolve to always support the ENTIRE Bill of Rights. Happy New Year. Let’s make 2016 better than the last. #newyearsresolution

Not bad Paul, not bad.
