College football is really big down South, but I’ve never been into it. NFL all the way. But there’s one principle every football fan understands. You NEVER turn your back on your team, especially to please somebody else.
Someone should’ve briefed Carly Fiorina.
On Friday, she expressed her seemingly random support of the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Rose Bowl, and Twitter wasn’t too happy about it.
Love my alma mater, but rooting for a Hawkeyes win today. #RoseBowl

Everyone instantly accused her of pandering to voters in Iowa.
@robdelaney As someone just pointed out to me, if this tweet were a bear it would be a pander bear. — Harlan Coben (@HarlanCoben) January 1, 2016
Seriously??? Who does this??? And on top of the insult to your school, you think Iowans are that shallow?? #iacaucus https://t.co/DIs44hI6Eg

Phony pandering that is not going to yield the desired result. https://t.co/JEAGX7KNwF — Steve Deace (@SteveDeaceShow) January 1, 2016
@CarlyFiorina This is expert-level pandering. Very competent. I expect nothing less from you!

Why would you root for the Hawkeyes? This is insulting to voters in Iowa (and everywhere). https://t.co/4UvjIGYSun — Justin Amash (@justinamash) January 1, 2016
Carly Fiorina just took political pandering to a whole new level https://t.co/VJGxyEnQY4

Maybe she thought this would help her relate to voters and boost her current 2.2 percent support in Iowa. I applaud her for trying to stay relevant and tapping into sports/pop culture, but still. She should ditch the phony pandering. I know it’s not a big deal, but it’s just a bit tacky.
Now, if everyone could start freaking out on Hillary for pandering to Hispanic voters with her random Spanish tweets, that’d be great, thanks.
