Social Justice Progressives Turn Against The Racist Founder Of Their Movement, Woodrow Wilson

This is absolutely HILARIOUS! I love it when the left starts eating its own *munches popcorn*

According to this, the Black Justice League at Princeton University are demanding that Woodrow Wilson’s name be taken off several buildings at the college where he was once president because he was a flaming racist (not going to argue that – though that’s only the beginning of Wilson’s crimes against society). Never mind that Wilson could probably be considered the founder of the modern Democrat Party and their liberal/progressive ideology – the same kind of ideology that these Social Justice Cultists often affiliate themselves with –

Apparently, Princeton was feeling left out of the kerfuffle going on at several college campuses over the past few weeks, and they wanted to get in on the progressive protest bandwagon. But what’s funny about this (in an insanely morbid way) is that Woodrow Wilson is basically where all this liberal progressivism started (an argument could be made that Teddy Roosevelt was in the mix too, but Wilson’s presidency is when it REALLY got a toe-hold in America). And as bad as Wilson was, he would probably be welcomed with open arms into the modern Democrat Party (though they’d have to tell him to adjust some of his more controversial rhetoric to modern terminology – it’s not “slavery,” it’s “welfare” – but the basic principles are the same). Earlier today, I saw this video from Stu Burguiere of The Blaze and it’s the perfect primer on why Woodrow Wilson was such a terrible guy.

And there’s this spot-on take from Breitbart –

Conservatives have little reason to defend or prop up Wilson as modern progressives take a hatchet to the man’s legacy. As absurd as the movement to strip his name from history may be, it is still certainly a good idea for those who desire to preserve American principles and traditions to at least understand the long-term consequences of bad ideas.

 

This is the legacy of Wilson’s ideals—the “evolving” Social Justice Warrior movement which has waged war on free speech and individual rights in the name of their cause. Progressives are now, fittingly, throwing their own movement’s creators into the ash heap of history.

So, I totally agree with these students that Woodrow Wilson should not be honored with his name on buildings on a college campus. But there’s more to my reasons than just “He was a racist” – he was a big government piece of crap lefty that paved the way for the big, bloated government we have now. Racism certainly played a part of that.

Own your history, Democrats. Until then, enjoy being destroyed by the social justice monsters you created.
