I can’t even with this nonsense. And what happens in England happens here, y’all. It’s just the way it is when it comes to social trends.
According to that sourcelink, new “guidelines” are being sent to every school in England this week, which identify “language that enforces gender stereotypes” so that kids as young as five can be disciplined if they’re caught daring to use such language.
What’s included? Phrases like “Man Up” for example.
If boys dare to suggest, in jest or otherwise, that girls on the playground make them sandwiches, teachers are “urged to ensure that sexist language is taken as seriously as racist language.”
Because this is how crazy things have become, y’all.
Who will police this, you might be wondering? Oh don’t worry – it’s just “volunteer squads of girls” who will then report back to teachers anytime they feel oppressed or insulted by something boys say on the playground. So it’s totally legit and fair and objective. (/sarc)
And if you’re worried about oversight, rest assured, because there will be teachers appointed as “gender champions” who will be on the lookout for any evil terrible mean and horrible boys. Those same gender champions will be tasked with encouraging girls to take traditionally male-dominated subjects like computer science and physics, and they’ll encourage boys to take more psych and lit classes – because those are traditionally female-dominated.
Gender warriors simply won’t rest until there’s no gender definition whatsoever.
