Yeah, because the Congressional hearing had everything to do with sexism and nothing to do with Planned Parenthood’s minions laughing about infanticide over salad and wine.
Nope. Cecile Richards believes this was all a shameless attack on women’s health. And the fact that Republicans questioned her six figure salary was also super sexist. Because what business is it of theirs if her taxpayer funded organization kills babies and dices them up and illegally sells their parts for profit? That should have NOTHING to do with her salary.
“I do think some of the comments were pretty sexist,” Richards told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Tuesday. “But actually I think it was because they didn’t have anything else to talk about.”
This was all about nothing. Riiiiiiiiiight.
“They are obsessed with ending access to reproductive healthcare for women in America,” Richards said. “Frankly, I was a bit dismayed about how little many members of the committee even knew about women’s health at all.”
Richards continued by boasting of the 2.7 million women served by the organization. She uses that number to convince herself that women would literally die in the streets if the government withheld funds. Someone should really tell her that Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and Rural Health Clinics (RHCs) serve over 21 million people a year. In other words, there are 20 community health clinics for every one Planned Parenthood. Those clinics– which are far more accessible– offer the same exact services for women.
But never mind that. Republicans are mean and sexist and want women to die in the streets. Clearly.
