As long as universities are around, we're ALWAYS going to be lectured about white guilt and white privilege and the general horribleness of white people. Evidently.
According to this, there is YET ANOTHER professor who's tweeting about white people and racism (wants to get in with all the "cool kids on campus," I suppose). But THIS guy is throwing slavery into the mix. And he's a white dude (I guess he felt the need to atone for the sins of his white forefathers). Check out what Adam Kotsko from Chicago's Shimer College (yeah, never heard of it either) has posted to his Twitter feed –

I'm sooooo glad this super-smart professor is around to be my judge and jury purely on the basis of my race. I mean, what else do you need to know about a person other than how much melanin content is in their skin in order to know what kind of a human being they are? OBVIOUSLY all white people are super-racist and hateful simply because white people owned slaves hundreds of years ago.
(Without getting into a super-long and boring history lesson – slavery was around LONG before America or even Western Civilization as we know it was thought of. And it could hardly be classified as based purely on race or skin color. It's only been within the last 250 years that it's been accepted to NOT take the people you've conquered in battle as slaves – that whole "All men are created equal" thing really did a number on how human being see each other).
With this being the third time we're reported on professors saying crap like this, I've stopped being shocked by it. Yeah, yeah, I get it. Academia hates white people and it's their job to make sure we all know it. Noted and understood. Doesn't mean I'm going to suddenly start groveling at the altar of white guilt in order to pay for something I never had a hand in, just because some self-hating jerk of a professor says I should.
