Meanwhile, back in Clintontopia – Hillary is charging non-profit organizations hundreds of thousands of dollars just to hear her bloviate about "Vote for Me! Vote for Me! Me! Me! MEEEEEE!"
According to this, Queen Hillary graced the Long Beach, California, chapter of the Boys and Girls Club with her presence – only after the organization shelled out $200,000 to hear her speak. And THEN, she didn't even stick around to interact with the kids after her speech (they're not old enough to vote, so it doesn't really matter).
The Boys and Girls Club even tried to make a little bit of their money back on the event, but they only raised about $106,000 – a little over half of what they ended up donating to the Clinton Foundation/Hillary's Campaign Slush Fund. From the article –
The massive fee, which she donated back to her family foundation, was the largest the Long Beach, California, organization had ever paid a public figure for a speech, Politico reports.By contrast, the club made $106,000 off the lunchtime, charity event – it's lowest yield in 25 years. A contributing factor to the diminished proceeds: Clinton's large entourage that took up seats that would have otherwise been sold to donors.
The article goes on to say that Bill Clinton spoke at a Boys and Girls Club back in 2007 and similarly pocketed the $150,000 speaking fee. That contrasted with an event Condoleezza Rice headlined for the organization where she asked for $60,000 and she ended up donating most of that money back to the group. In fact, that's what most visiting dignitaries do anyway – the speaking fee is more of a formality than anything. You're talking about a group that had a $3 million/year operating budget – they can't afford to shell out money like this for these types of events.
In other words – the Clintons are super-tacky when it comes to supporting Actual Charities (not just their little family slush fund masquerading as a charity) and they get away with it because, Clintons. You can bet that if it were a conservative who got caught fleecing a children's non-profit group out of hundreds of thousands of dollars, we'd never hear the end of it. But since this is Queen Hillary and people are still buying that tripe about the Clinton Foundation being a charity organization, she's going to get a pass and everyone's going to still love her.
Just another day in Hillaryland.
