Obama has spent the majority of the week trying to “tackle” our little terrorist problem. And by “tackle” I mean making grandiose speeches in front of his elitist friends, assuring them that ISIS has nothing to do with Islamic extremism whatsoever. Yeah. Whatever.
State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf got a good shellacking after her dumb comment about ISIS acting out because of a lack of job opportunities (which is apparently “too nuanced” for lowly peasants like ourselves).
Well, have no fear Harf! We all think you’re an idiot, but John Kerry doesn’t! In fact, he doubled down and said that some ISIS members might be acting out because they’re jealous of the lavish lifestyles of those who go to “fancy restaurants” and stuff.
Trust me, I wish this was some kind of sick joke.
“They might grow from pictures seen on the nightly news or from acts of discrimination or repression that you don’t think much about on the day of occurrence, but which come back to haunt. It could come from the desire to avenge the death of a loved one.
In some cases, they may come from a lost job or from the contrast between one family’s empty dinner plate and a fancy restaurant’s lavish menu.The poison might even come from within, in the form of rebellion against anonymity, the desire to belong to a group, people who want a moment of visibility and identity, or the hunger for black-and-white answers to problems that are very complex in a remarkably more complicated world.”
Ruth’s Chris isn’t exactly in my daily budget, so heck. I think I’ll go join an extremist group because I’M SO JEALOUS.
To be completely serious, it doesn’t matter what kind of manufactured excuse the administration comes up with. It doesn’t matter if it’s a wage gap, lack of job opportunities, a dinner menu or anything. There’s no excuse for their barbaric behavior. Many people are suffering around the world, and they’re not lopping off heads because of it.
These are the weak attempts by the Obama Administration to justify the actions of complete savages, and it’s beyond disturbing.
