Ohio University has launched a campaign to end offensive and racist Halloween costumes. The campaign is called, "We're a Culture, Not a Costume" and they've created posters of sad-faced people who are holding up pictures of other people in costumes. Apparently, these costumes offend the sad-faced people and hurt them so deeply, that they needed to launch a whole campaign about it. And so far, the campaign has been wildly successful.
On each poster, it says, "This is not who I am, and this is not ok." And look – I'm not saying the costumes aren't in poor taste – because many of them are. But a whole educational campaign? Have we really gotten this completely hypersensitive? Are people really this incapable of just laughing at themselves a little?
Naturally, the group's guiding principle reads like it came right out of some liberal textbook. It reads, "The purpose of STARS (Students Teaching About Racism in Society) is to educate and facilitate discussion about all ism’s (racism, sexism, classism, etc.), raise awareness about social justice, and promote racial harmony. Our job is to create a safe, non-threatening environment to allow participants to feel comfortable to express their feelings.”
Here's a couple of the posters.

But because the internet is full of EPIC WIN, there are already parody photos of this entire campaign, and they are hysterical and perfect. Behold:

And this? This one's my absolute favorite.

DON'T DRESS UP LIKE NINJAS, you racist ninja-haters. Because the real ones will sneak up on you out of nowhere.
You know what would be awesome? If this entire country would get the twist out of its collective panties and freaking LOCATE ITS SENSE OF HUMOR.
GAWD.
