(Why yes, that is a surly pitbull pup)
Did you guys hear about Obama praising the Philadelphia Eagles owner for hiring Michael Vick and “giving him a second chance?”
I’ve taken some time to ponder this so I would avoid writing a knee-jerk reaction about it here – because as the proud owner of four dogs and a former “foster mom” for an ex-fighter pitbull (she was also named Daisy, by the way) – I think Vick is nothing more than a piece of human garbage.
I tend to be hot-headed sometimes, and Mock always tells me to “count to 100.” So, yeah – I did. But my disgust hasn’t subsided. Not one bit. I think it royally sucks that the POTUS singled out Vick and praised him (and ONLY him). This guy knowingly and systematically tortured helpless animals by hanging, drowning, electrocuting and shooting them. Oh yeah, and I recall hearing that he beat them to death, too. And, yes, he served his time. Boo freakin’ hoo. But he’s doing just fine now. He rebuilt his life and I’d venture to say that financially, he’s doing waaaaaaaay better than most Americans right now. Megyn Kelley (in the video below) took the words right out of my head when she asked if Obama would’ve praised Vick if he had tortured human beings. I mean, would Obama be happy that we’d given Jeffery Dahmer a “second chance” after he served his time? This is not so much about second chances here as it is about WHAT IS APPROPRIATE AND WHAT IS NOT. Especially for the President of the United States.
And this little scenario? Not appropriate.
But, regardless of all of this nonsense, the NAACP is right there, defending both of them. Because of COURSE they are.
Yep. I counted to 100. And guess what? It’s still a BIG, FAT, HAIRY FAIL.
