Let me just preface this by saying that Planned Parenthood receives $350 million annually in taxpayer money. Money from you and me.
Now then.
According to this, Planned Parenthood recently published what they call a “young person’s guide to their rights, sexuality, and living with HIV.” It’s called the “Happy, Healthy, and Hot” guide.
So far, so good, right?
But here’s the problem. In the guide it says (emphasis mine), “Your decision about whether to disclose may change with different people and situations. You have the right to decide if, when, and how to disclose your HIV status” with sexual partners. Say whaaa?
I don’t know about you guys, but I kind of think if you are a carrier of a disease which is transmitted via relations of a sexual nature, then you pretty much OWE IT to your partner to give them the option of whether or not they want to have relations of a sexual nature with you. And I think it’s sick and wrong that Planned Parenthood is saying that disclosing it is like, totally optional.
Discuss.
