Wanna See An Example Of Some Good Old Fashioned Female Jealousy?

Look no further than this article, written by a woman who is obviously seething with envy over how gorgeous the female anchorwomen/contributors are at Fox News.

Margot Magowan is apparently so troubled over how pretty the Fox staff is that she devoted an entire article to complaining about it. She believes that there is some sort of evil makeover conspiracy going on over there, which is turning regular women into “Foxified” versions of their former selves.

She cites a few examples; specifically Greta Van Susteren’s makeover, as well as Lis Wiehl’s. Lis used to look like this:

And now she looks like this:

You know what I thought when I saw this transformation?  SIGN. ME. UP.  Clearly, the Fox News make-up crew is comprised of total geniuses.

Here’s the thing.  If somehow, the Fox team is helping already fabulous looking women look more fabulous, WHY is this a problem?  Well, I’ll let Margot tell you in her own words:  “By turning professors and authors into porn star doppelgangers, the network effectively communicates what women say is not as important how they appear.“

Say whaaa?  You just said these women look like porn stars and FOX is the problem here???  Fox hired them to contribute to their news programs.  All you did was call them porn stars.  Nicely done, pseudo-feminist.

Margot does a bit of backpedaling as an “update” to her column.  She writes, “Update: I’m not attacking these women for getting jobs; I’m pointing out the sexist requirements for men versus women on TV. Furthermore, being “Foxified” doesn’t translate to being attractive or beautiful. As a commenter pointed out, it has to do with becoming a “femmebot.” The blonde dye jobs and overly made up faces on Fox News women are indicative of a culture dominated by caucasians and capitalism, keeping women in line by rewarding them when they conform to the rules. It’s a reflexive, but still clever, way to keep women in their place and uphold the power structure as it is.”

Here’s what Margot and other pseudo-feminists like her don’t seem to realize.  None of the women on Fox are forced at gunpoint to look a certain way.  I would venture to guess that most if not all of them are quite happy with the way they look.  I certainly would be if I were them.  Do I think it’s kinda funny that there are so many foxy blondes on Fox?  Perhaps it is.  And if they were obviously unqualified for their jobs, perhaps I’d have a problem with it.  But the fact of the matter is, they’re all quite good at what they do.  But what makes women like Margot crazy is that they’re also incredibly attractive.  Apparently, Margot thinks  that somehow diminishes their talent.

It’s a shame Margot feels the need to say they look like porn stars and “femmebots.”  That is far more offensive to me than, say, Fox News hiring talented women who happen to be incredibly gorgeous blondes for their programs.
