Ok – so before I start, let me make it abundantly clear that I do not hold children responsible for the flaws of their parents.
People are NOT their parents – and should not be held accountable for their actions unless they were actively involved in them. Because of that, I’m not necessarily pinning this on Gillibrand. I won’t hold her dad’s actions against her. There are plenty of other reasons to hate what she stands for.

That being said, this is BIZARRE – so I clearly had to write about it.
I’ve written about the Nxivm sex cult a few times. I described some of the ultra-creepy goings-on here:
The Times story said several former Nxivm members described the painful initiation into a secret sisterhood within the self-help group.
A woman who recently quit the group, Sarah Edmonson, said that women in the sisterhood were not allowed to eat more than 800 calories a day, so they could maintain a physique attractive to Raniere.
Edmonson said that the group was pitched to her as a way women could overcome weaknesses that Raniere believed plagued the fairer sex – such as being overemotional, untrustworthy and identifying as a victim.
But when she started the recruitment process it turned out to be a nightmare.
Edmonson was given a ‘master’ who she had to obey as a ‘slave’, including texting them in the morning ‘Morning M’ and at night ‘Goodnight M.’
When it came time for the candlelit initiation, she was told that she would be getting a small tattoo.
But after disrobing and laying town on a table, she was restrained and then branded with a 2-inch-wide (5-centimeter-wide) symbol including Nxivm founder Keith Raniere’s initials.
She said the whole process took 20 to 30 minutes.

ANYWAY – in a very strange turn of events, guess who was formerly involved in this train wreck.

According to Daily Caller:
Several court documents made public Thursday allegedly show that the father of 2020 presidential candidate and Democratic New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand worked on behalf of a sex cult.
Documents obtained by Big League Politics seem to confirm past rumors that Gillibrand’s father Doug Rutnik worked for NXIVM, a sex cult in Albany, New York, that allegedly trafficked women. Rutnik reportedly worked for the organization for four months in 2004, at a monthly rate of $25,000.
Wait.
Twenty-Five THOUSAND dollars per MONTH?!

“Her father Doug Rutnik came to work as a consultant for NXIVM. … He was fired, they sued him, and they had to pay him $100,000,” alleged former NXIVM employee Frank Parlato told Big League Politics. “Her father’s wife, her stepmother, was also a member of NXIVM … Doug got her into the cult, Gillibrand’s father got Gillibrand’s future stepmother into the cult. Doug left the cult because he was sued. Clare Bronfman, after her father was sued, donated money to Gillibrand. Gillibrand accepted it.”
This is so freaking weird.
And then it gets THAT MUCH WORSE:
An unnamed source also reportedly told the website that Gillibrand once sat at an NXIVM table at a fundraising event for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Aaaand it all comes together.
I need to go take a hot shower and scald the ick off of myself. Thinking that Bill Clinton and some sex cult that brands women are only one level of separation away from each other gives me a major case of the heebie-jeebies.
