According to this, an explosive device was sent to Bill and Hillary Clinton’s home in Chappaqua, New York. A similar device was sent to Barack Obama.
The Secret Service said that the package was addressed to former first lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The second package, addressed to former President Obama, was intercepted by the Secret Service in Washington, DC early Wednesday morning. The statement did not say where in DC the Obama package was discovered, by the Times report said it was sent to his office.
These were similar to the device found in George Soros’ mailbox earlier this week, although we don’t yet know if they’re all connected.
“The packages were immediately identified during routine mail screening procedures as potential explosive devices and were appropriately handled as such,” the Secret Service said in a statement. “The protectees did not receive the packages nor were they at risk of receiving them.”
“The Secret Service has initiated a full scope criminal investigation that will leverage all available federal, state, and local resources to determine the source of the packages and identify those responsible,” the agency added.
I sincerely hope they identify the sick loser (or group of sick losers) who sent these devices. None of this is OK. This behavior shouldn’t be tolerated. As Sen. Rand Paul said a few days ago, “Violence and mob attacks are the same whether leveled at someone you like or your political adversary. They should all be condemned and stood up to.”
