Melania Trump Releases Rare Statement On Illegal Immigrant Families

It’s not every day that First Lady Melania Trump releases a statement on a pressing political matter, so this is kind of a big deal.

We wrote about the entire debate surrounding illegal immigrant families earlier today. Go ahead and catch up here. I’ll wait.

“Mrs. Trump hates to see children separated from their families and hopes both sides of the aisle can finally come together to achieve successful immigration reform. She believes we need to be a country that follows all laws, but also a country that governs with heart,” Stephanie Grisham, the first lady’s communications director, said in a statement to The Hill.

It’s…pretty straightforward. I think that’s basically how we all feel. We have to enforce the rule of law, but at the same time, we’re obviously a compassionate nation. It’s all about finding that balance.
