I’ve never understood how people expect “reparations” to work.
Even if I agreed with them (I adamantly DO NOT.) how do these people propose they’re handed out?
Are they only for the direct descendants of slaves? Many black people’s families immigrated to America out of their own free will… SURELY they are not entitled to money. Right? Or are we giving people money simply for the color of their skin?
And if we did SOMEHOW find a way to PROVE that someone is the descendant of a slave and not of an immigrant… will we be including descendants of the Irish slave trade, and of European indentured servants? Because if this is TRULY about slavery and not about race, then they deserve the same reparations, correct?
Anyway… I thought this talk was dead. Figured people realized how ridiculous it all is. But nah… there will ALWAYS be people like Maxine Waters.
According to the American Mirror:
If Democrats win back the House in 2018, Maxine Waters is promising financial reparations for black Americans.
During an appearance in Selma, Alabama on Saturday, Waters appeared alongside CNN commentator Angela Rye.
Waters took her time to — what else — attack President Trump, criticizing him for his alleged connections to Russia.
Could Maxine be any more of a joke?
“He’s a bully — he has a bully mentality,” Waters said of Trump.
“We need someone in the presidency who not only has good sense but understands diplomacy and understands what we need to do to have peace in this world so we can all look forward to the possibility that we’re someday going to have a world that’s about peace and justice and respect for individual liberty,” Water said.
“Is that your stump speech for 2020?” Rye asked.
As Waters laughed and the crowd applauded, Rye continued, “Is she running? Is she running?”
Waters didn’t answer.
Oh dear GOD… Does this woman actually plan on running?! Does she think she stands a chance?
Then the reparations thing came up. Because NOTHING assures you’ll win the Democratic candidacy like talk of reparations, am I right?
Later, an attendee challenged Waters to push for reparations and take up a bill John Conyers had sponsored in this House in previous sessions.
Waters said she would.
“I’d be happy to do that. That’s no problem,” she answered.
“In order to get where we need to go on this issue and other issues, we really got to understand that 2018 is important in taking back the House and taking back the Senate,” Waters said.
So you heard it here… If the Democrats win the House and Senate back in 2018… REPARATIONS FOR ALL (she deems worthy.) !!!
