CNN’s Jim Acosta Gets Slapped Back After Asking The Dumbest Question Of All Time

On Friday morning, Budget Director Mick Mulvaney told the press that there’s about a 50 to 60 percent chance of a government shutdown.

“I think it’s ratcheted up. We were operating under a sort of 30 percent shutdown up until yesterday, I think it’s ratcheted up now,” he explained. “We’ve had our meeting just about a half an hour ago, a teleconference with a bunch of agencies to tell them to start to implement their lapse plan, the next step in preparing for a lapse in funding, that’s what we call a shutdown, the formal name of it. I guess the bottom line is we’re working to make sure there is no shutdown but if the Senate or the House can’t get together to finalize a deal we’ll be ready.”

“I’m handicapping it now at some place between 50 and 60 percent,” he continued. “But again we’re planning for it as if it’s 100 percent. That’s what we do, we run the government, and we will run the government if a bill passes, we will run the government if a bill doesn’t pass.”

“There is no reason that you have to deal with DACA this week… DACA doesn’t expire until March 5th,” he added.

He takes issue with the term “Schumer shutdown.” After all, Republicans are in charge!

It would seem that #FakeNews Acosta doesn’t know that the Senate needs 60 votes to pass the measure. There are only 51 Republicans. This means that we would need Schumer and other Democrats to jump on board. Schumer doesn’t want to. Hence, “Schumer shutdown.”

Acosta’s playing dumb and was called out for doing so.

We just found out another fact about Jim Acosta. He's bad at math. Repub's 51 + Dems 0 does not equal 60 votes needed to keep Gov running. Hence, it's the "Schumer Shutdown".
