Colbert Grills Franco On Ally Sheedy’s Cryptic Sexual Abuse Tweets

James Franco seems like he might a total douchebag… but I do really like his work… he’s been in a lot of good stuff…

I definitely let out an “ugh” when the morning after the Golden Globes, Ally Sheedy (Brat packer best known for he Breakfast Club and St. Elmo’s Fire and the like.) sent out a cryptic tweet pointing at him being among the Hollywood abusers.

Ally retweeted a number of Dylan Farrow tweets…

But I have to wonder – is time really up now? Is this really the turning point? I have no doubt it can be. I have no doubt the time is right. But in order for things to meaningfully change, they need to change unequivocally. /4

No predator should be spared by virtue of their “talent” or “creativity” or “genius.” No rock should be left unturned. The principles of the movement need to be applied consistently and without exemption. /5

and then Sheedy Tweeted this…

…and quickly deleted all of it.

Um, yikes.

Of course, nothing is ever truly deleted on the internet… so everyone knows. Stephen Colbert asked James Franco about it last night, and it was kind of awk, if you ask me.

According to TMZ:

James Franco had some hand-wringing moments with Stephen Colbert as he tried to address accusations on social media that he sexually assaulted and harassed women.

‘The Late Show’ almost felt like “Dr. Phil” as the actor took issue with several women making claims, including one who wrote on Twitter, “Remember the time you pushed my head down in a car towards your exposed penis & that other time you told my friend to come to your hotel when she was 17?”

He says he’s perplexed by actress Ally Sheedy, who cryptically posted a comment after watching Franco win Best Actor at the Golden Globes …”Why is James Franco allowed in? Said too much.”

But then James seems to waffle a bit, saying, “If there is restitution to be made I will make it.”

Does that sound like a man who is entirely innocent but knows calling an accuser a liar will gain him unnecessary backlash?

Or does it sound like a man who knows he’s done something wrong?

Either way… It’s problematic… and I take issue with accusing someone of sexual abuse years later via cryptic tweet and then DELETING it, you know?

Either do this or don’t, but at least stand by your accusations.
