I’ve written about this show before because the Left was outraged that Tim Allen dared to utter what they considered to be a controversial and inflammatory line: “Saying ‘Merry Christmas to all’ has suddenly become problematic.” That was the line that people didn’t appreciate.
He called it like he saw it, which is that everyone is so hyper sensitive and easily offended that even a joyful, celebratory exclamation has become “problematic” in our triggered snowflake society. Heaven forbid someone should say “Merry Christmas” to you when you don’t celebrate Christmas. The horror! It might cause AcTuAl TrAuMa! (Newsflash: you can choose to respond with a joyful and celebratory exclamation more consistent with your holiday celebration OR you could choose to ignore the joyful and celebratory exclamation altogether. No need to be offended.)
But as usual, it turns out that the Leftist outrage doesn’t reflect actual public sentiment. According to the Washington Examiner,
“The series is boasting 16.23 times the audience demand for an average show, a number that only 2.7% of broadcast and streaming movies can tout, according to Parrot Analytics.
The Santa Clauses series also claimed the eighth most-watched spot of all Disney+ originals for the months of November and December. The remaining shows listed on the Top 10 list belong to those of either the Marvel or Star Wars franchises.”
Y’all, it’s basically in the top 3% of all broadcast and streaming movies! That’s HUGE! And all this DESPITE his “problematic” comment and DESPITE his outspoken conservative views, which enrage the Left. They have tried SO HARD to cancel Tim Allen, even excluding him from the Toy Story spinoff about Buzz Lightyear, the beloved intergalactic toy character previously voice by Tim Allen. They made that movie woke and it fell far short of expectations. And yet the people continue to tell them that they PREFER Tim Allen-type content over woke indoctrination.
In fact, compare Tim Allen’s The Santa Clauses success with the recent epic flop that was Disney’s woke movie “Strange World.” They packed ALL the Leftist agenda items into Strange World and even released it on a long holiday weekend, and it ABSOLUTELY TANKED. How embarrassing.

I wonder if entertainment companies will ever learn that the movies and shows that outrage the Left actually do FAR better than the things that appease Leftists, like The Santa Clauses and Top Gun: Maverick. Meanwhile, woke movies fall far short of social or monetary expectations. At some point, revenue has to win out over ideology, right?

I just wish we could have something like that to watch on Over-the-Air TV, like we used to. We can’t stream and we don’t have cable and satellite is too expensive and unreliable. Sucks to be us, I guess. We don’t watch must regular TV anymore. I get DVDs from the local library.
Let me start by saying I really like Tim Allen. However, I don’t see HOW this show is getting ANY ratings. It’s a mess – boring and completely lacking the “magic” of the first two (The Santa Clause 3 was just awful).
That said, if something this bad can draw in an audience 16x higher than most other streaming product it says people are really clamoring for something not woke and something family friendly.

You’d think it would be a slam-dunk, but the Left’s activists have perfected the art of the “human puff adder.” They have learned to make themselves and their actual influence on market behavior appear far larger than they really are. Combined with their devastating effectiveness at infiltrating organizations of all sorts — emphatically including commercial concerns — rising in their hierarchies, and bringing in their fellow travelers behind them, they’ve succeeded in inflicting unprecedented lunacy and financial damage on some of the largest corporations on Earth.
These are the fruits of the Left’s “power uber alles” mindset. The Left prizes power above all other things, and pursues it relentlessly, regardless of any other consideration. Meanwhile, we in the Right are just trying to make a living by offering customers what they want. The contest over cultural control goes to the Left, practically by default.
