November 23, 2022Court Filings in connection with the pending charges against Colorado gay club mass shooter Anderson Aldrich reveal that the suspect identifies as non-binary, uses they/them pronouns, and prefers the prefix “Mx.” as opposed to Ms. or Mr. This means that the suspect does not fit the mainstream media narrative about right-wing extremists and so-called “anti-LGBTQIABCXYZ+-*&%!” conservative rhetoric being directly responsible for the tragedy.
One CNN host is hilariously baffled by this news, and highly skeptical that it is legit. In a discussion between host Alisyn Camerota and her guest Errol Louis, Camerota repeatedly misgenders the suspect by using male pronouns and the two express their skepticism and shock at the news about the suspect’s supposed gender identity.
Camerota says,
“I don’t know what to say about that. I mean, that’s not anything that we had heard from his background, you know, people have been looking into his background. And I don’t know if anybody here – are you guys lawyers? I mean, you know… I don’t know what to say about that. I mean, that’s what he’s now saying.”
She and her guest seem to be sarcastic and skeptical about this new information, and even suggest that it’s simply a ploy for “sympathy,” saying,
“It sounds like they’re trying to prepare a defense against the hate crimes charge. That’s the least of his problems, legally speaking. But it looks like they’re trying to build some kind of sympathy or at least confusion on the question of whether or not this was purely motivated by hate.”
Oh, how the tables have turned. Conservatives frequently postulate that all this new “gender identity” stuff can be exploited by opportunistic and disingenuous people, like a predator pretending to identify as a woman in order to gain access to women’s locker rooms. And now, CNN is almost intentionally misgendering a person who supposedly identifies as non-binary and suggesting that this person is being disingenuous about their identity because they think it’s simply opportunistic. It always comes back around, doesn’t it?

Well apparently they are all thinking that the suspect is lying about his gender. Because they refuse to believe that leftests are hateful people.
The Left constantly reprimands us and lectures us about not taking a non-binary person at their word regarding their “gender identity”. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, it sounds like CNN needs a lecture.
And suddenly we have the No True Scotsman fallacy. Which is all the more egregious because the only requirement for being “nonbinary” is to assert you are.
I’d ask how these people are winning the culture war but then I remember how dumb “educated” people can be.
