October 3, 2022CA is lost, y’all. With Gavin Newsom at the helm, the state is completely borked. According to this, slick-haired Gavin Newsom just signed Assembly Bill 2098 into law, and it’s about as commie of a law as I’ve seen lately.
The law basically muzzles medical professionals and doles out punishments to anyone caught engaging in wrongthink with respect to Covid. Specifically, the bill says, “This bill would designate the dissemination or promotion of misinformation or disinformation related to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, or ‘COVID-19,’ as unprofessional conduct. The bill would require the board to consider specified factors prior to bringing a disciplinary action against a physician and surgeon. The bill would also make findings and declarations in this regard.”
So just imagine you’re a person in CA who wants to have a genuine conversation with your family physician about your personal risk factors in getting the shot or not getting the shot. Instead of being able to evaluate you as an individual, your doc might just have to lie to you even if they know they’re betraying their own oath to their medical profession, OR they may opt to tell you the truth at the risk of losing their right to practice medicine. Those are the options of a doctor who doesn’t fall in line. If a doctor dares to challenge Lord Fauci or the WHO or the CDC or just whatever spin the Biden administration is currently using to talk about Covid, they could be charged with “unprofessional conduct.”
It’s just more Leftist censorship – and the consequences for science are honestly unthinkable.
How this stupid new law is even remotely constitutional, I have no idea.
But Newsom is all in. When he signed the bill, he said, “To be clear, this bill does not apply to any speech outside of discussions related to Covid-19 treatment within a direct physician patient relationship.” Um…so what? You’re restricting speech INSIDE discussions related to Covid – so just because you’re only censoring a little bit doesn’t make it any less egregious. The point is, Newsom is restricting speech. The end.
Remember when he released an ad mocking Governor Ron DeSantis about freedom? Good times.
Science is all about asking questions. It’s all about changing practices as more information is learned. That’s why doctors don’t typically drill holes in people’s skulls any longer to let demons out. Science is ever evolving. Attempts like Newsom’s to prevent debate and discussion and choice-making between doctors and patients are just plain un-American.

Y’all need to spread the love on this one. This isn’t ALL Newsome’s doing (and full disclosure…I detest the man and think he sucks as governor). But remember…the bill had to go through California’s assembly FIRST. So all those people who signed onto it are also responsible. Do we know the Rs and their votes or was this completely partisan?
This has 1st Amendment violation stamped all over it. I wonder how long it’ll a doctor to sue Newsom and the state for violating those rights.
Who would have thought the MAGA fascist Republicans would take over California, and one of the first things they do is restrict speech to only what The State allows. People need to start voting for these Democrat “free speech champions” I keep hearing about and throw these MAGA nuts out. /s

My heart goes out to conservatives stuck in California! Gawd that must be hell to live in what was once a magnificent state that is now reduced to a third world country and a freedom sucking commie sanctuary.
