Hi everyone!
My name is Haley Myrick, and I’m so excited to join the Chicks on the Right team as a writer.
Just to give you a little background about myself, I work in healthcare marketing by day, and by night I run my own small marketing business.
I grew up in rural Illinois where I was homeschooled until I was 16. I then attended public school until graduation. While both experiences were great, I can wholeheartedly say my mom will always be the best teacher I’ve ever had.
I graduated from Blackburn College with a degree in Communications. Blackburn is a small work college which allowed me to work and gain management experience while studying. Working through college also helped cut down on my student loan debt BECAUSE I WAS BEING RESPONSIBLE. So, it was a win-win overall. #GoBeavers.
While on campus I was the editor-in-chief of the college newspaper, and the sole conservative on staff. As you can imagine, my op-eds were a real hit with the faculty.
Once I entered the professional world, I noticed I slowly began to let myself be silenced. I stopped voicing my opinions and started to steer clear of arguments. I lost a big part of who I am. I’ve always been a writer at heart and loved politics. Being able to get back to those two things by working alongside the Chicks is something that couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m ready to start being bold again.
Outside of work, my favorite thing to do is hang out with my husband, Alex, whenever I can. He’s very quiet, and I’m very not quiet, so it works out well.
In addition to my hairy husband, I also have a dog named Bradley Pooper and a cat named Hugo Clawvez. Hugo is very fat. And Brad is roughly five years of age but has a face as old as time.
A fun fact about me is that my appendix has tried to kill me on multiple occasions. However, I like to consider the experience a major character-building opportunity.
Stay classy, and I look forward to (hopefully) entertaining you all.

Welcome, glad you’re here! Look forward to reading your stuff!
Welcome welcome Haley! (My appendix also tried to kill me. As a result it was taken out. As they say, ‘fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice… you ain’t gonna fool me again’)
They really are pains in the asses, aren’t they? Mine ruptured, caused a bunch of damage when they took it out, and then YEARS LATER I had a ton of scar tissue that tried to get me, too. But we’re tough, so we made it, right? Glad you’re still here, too. 🙂
Welcome to the family, Haley! Glad to have you with us!
Thank you so much! I’m thrilled to be here and get to know everyone!

Welcome aboard.
Thank you, Mike! I’m pumped to be here. Mock and Daisy have already been so amazing to work with and I know I’m going to learn so much from them.
