Disturbing Full Uvalde Video With Overlayed 911 Calls, Body Cam Footage Of Delayed Police Response

The disturbing surveillance video and body cam footage from the devastating Robb Elementary School shooting that was exclusively obtained by the Austin American-Statesman and KVUE has now been released.

Warning: the video includes 911 audio which is difficult to listen to, as well as the sounds of gunfire as the depraved shooter massacres 19 children and 2 teachers. Mercifully, “the sound of children screaming has been removed” from the audio, but an editor’s note in the corner of the video tells you when it’s happening.

Texas Department of Public Safety Steve McCraw confirmed that 9 officers were inside the building within three minutes of the beginning of the shooter’s attack, which is seen on the surveillance video. After several minutes, police can be seen arriving and advancing toward the shooter during a lull in the gunfire, but then retreating back to the end of the hallway as the shooter continues firing. At one point, an officer grabs a pump of hand sanitizer from a dispenser hanging on the wall by the officers.

In an interview with the Texas Tribune, McCraw said,

“The officers had weapons; the children had none. The officers had body armor; the children had none. The officers had training; the subject had none. One hour, 14 minutes and 8 seconds. That’s how long children waited, and the teachers waited, in Room 111 to be rescued.”

And in a Texas State Senate Committee meeting, McCraw called the police response an “abject failure” where the on-scene police commander “decided to place the lives of officers before the lives of children.” And that’s pretty much what can be seen in the surveillance video.
