August 4, 2021In an epic display of political theater, radical woke progressive Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was enjoying a maskless Congress-occupying gathering on the steps of the Capitol when she put on a mask specifically for a photo op, and then promptly removed it again.

Because really, it has nothing to do with public health or stopping the spread of COVID or protecting other people. Those aren’t real priorities. Those aren’t real motivations. Those are just excuses to exert control.
The real issue is the narrative that justifies government overreach and control over American citizens.
The narrative that all Americans must surrender their personal choice and accountability and wear an unnecessary and ineffective mask, anywhere they are, indoor or outdoor, vaccinated or unvaccinated, even in their own homes with their own healthy children who are at statistically zero risk of serious COVID illness.
AOC had to protect the narrative. Or at least protect the appearance of the narrative.
She’s playing a part and acting like masks are really important and useful.
But it’s all an act.
