Pelosi Cites Her Catholicism While Encouraging Taxpayer-Funded Abortions… And Her Archbishop Ain’t Havin’ It

Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, in one breath, stated this Thursday that having five kids as a devout Catholic was great for her, but taxpayer-funded abortions are needed for ‘poor women.’

So many things wrong with that sentence.

First of all, who is Pelosi trying to convince of her Catholicism – us or herself? Honey, God sees right through you.

Secondly, I love how she inadvertently compares ‘devout Catholic’ to ‘poor women’ as if somehow poor women are lacking some Jesus.

Thirdly, if Catholics don’t support birth control, why on God’s green earth would they support murdering a baby in the womb? You need to dust off that Bible, Nance. Otherwise, hop back on that broomstick where you belong.

The California Democrat spoke on Capitol Hill where she falsely said that Democrats have not blocked Republican attempts to ban taxpayer funding of abortions before describing taxpayer funded abortion as “an issue of health, as an issue of fairness.”

“It’s an issue of health of many women in America, especially those in lower income situations, and different states, and it is something that has been a priority for many of us a long time,” Pelosi said.

Sounds like safe sex and methods of effective birth control should be the primary focus here. I wouldn’t mind having birth control be a taxpayer-funded avenue, so long as we don’t kill any freaking kids.

Why is murdering babies the more considered option? Oh, wait, that’s right… because preventative measures actually require accountability and, I don’t know, the slightest effort. That’s clearly too much to ask.

“As a devout Catholic and mother of five in six years, I feel that God blessed my husband and me with our beautiful family, five children in six years almost to the day,” she said. “But it’s not up to me to dictate that that’s what other people should and it is an issue of fairness and justice for poor women in our country.”

Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, Pelosi’s archbishop in San Francisco, stated that his ‘recourse’ as a pastor is the ‘public medicine of temporary exclusion from the Lord’s Table.’

In other words, Pelosi is excluded from Holy Communion because, being a pro-abortion Catholic, deems her a moral evil.

“I have had such conversations with Speaker Pelosi, she knows that I stand by Church teaching, and I know she’s respectful enough not to do anything so provocative,” the archbishop said in May.

“In the case of President Biden or any other prominent Catholic, I think what I would do is if I knew that they were coming into the area here and planned to attend mass, I would try to have those conversations as well ahead of time,” he added.
