To say the American Dream is dead is offensive. In my lifetime, I have seen people from all walks of life make it onto the main stage of all arenas.
Barack Obama became the first black president in the history of our country.
Oprah went from being dirt poor to being one of the richest people (not just black people but of any race of people) in the country.
We have seen record low unemployment in the black community.
We have a black supreme court justice.
None of this matters to race-baiters and people who profit off of racial tensions in America because Ilhan Omar wants you to believe that the US system as a whole oppresses the black community.
Ilhan Omar herself is a black refugee from Somalia who immigrated to this country and rose to become a United States Congresswoman.

I need to point out before I get to the actual content of the clip that she is yelling at the top of her lungs while holding an object whose only job is to project sound. Her outrage over how oppressed she is in her congressional ivory tower made her forget that we can hear her without the yelling thanks to the invention of the microphone and speaker system she is using.
Congresswoman Ilhan Omar addressed a packed crowd in Minneapolis this week, saying, “For the last 25 years, I have lived as a black person in this country. I have lived as a mother raising black children. So I do know what it means to be black in America. I know what our young children go through because I was an adolescent interfacing with the police department here in Minneapolis.”
“I know my silence will contribute to complacency. I know that none of you fought so hard to get me elected so that I can cosign on a system that continues to oppress us!” added Rep. Omar.
Her words garnered cheers from the anti-police crowd she was addressing.
She must have felt so oppressed getting back into her car service with police protection to head back to her lovely home in her nice neighborhood with her healthy children.
Where do I sign up for this oppression she is talking about? I want some.
