G20 Protesters Swarm Hamburg, Melania Trump Reportedly Trapped In Her Hotel

I really hope the media’s making this sound scarier than it actually is.

According to this, the protests at the G20 summit have gotten so bad that the security detail assigned to First Lady Melania Trump have been unable to get clearance for her to leave the hotel that she’s staying in during her and President Trump’s trip to the summit –

First lady Melania Trump was trapped inside her residence in Hamburg on Friday because of the violent protests outside the G20 summit, according to reports.

A spokeswoman said they’d been unable to get security clearance from police to leave the guest house and that “it’s unfortunate,” The Hill reported, citing NBC News.

To her everlasting credit, FLOTUS has expressed concern for the dangers presented by the violent protests –

Even in the middle of a crisis and facing potential danger to herself, Mrs. Trump has the class and humility to think of other people. Sound cheesy? Maybe. But this is actually one of the things that I admire the most about our current FLOTUS.

Hopefully the protests calm down long enough to get everyone safely where they need to be.
