Thanks To Germany’s Open-Door Policy, Thousands Of Ex-Taliban Fighters May Have Entered The Country

How will German Chancellor Angela Merkel handle this news? Will the woman who championed Germany’s open-door policy take another soft approach and criticize other world leaders for cracking down on migrants, or will she admit that Islamic extremism is a huge threat to Germany’s national security and try to speed up deportations?

I never know which Merkel I’m dealing with these days. Her opinions change like the wind.

According to the German magazine Der Spiegel, thousands of ex-Taliban fighters may have entered Germany, posing as helpless migrants looking for refuge. In fact, Germany’s Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) claims “thousands” of these supposed ex-Taliban fighters ADMITTED they were former Taliban insurgents on their paperwork. Not kidding.

It added that at least 70 Afghan men were being investigated by Germany’s over-stretched chief federal prosecutor, though it was not clear whether all of them were suspected of being active Taliban militants.

Well, as long as they’re no longer active. THAT’S all that really matters.

Six are being held in investigatory detention and preliminary court hearings involving several others are due to start next week, the magazine added.

 

No comment was immediately available from the migration office or federal prosecutors.

Of course they didn’t have a comment. What are they going to say? “Yeah– um. They said they aren’t part of the Taliban anymore, so we thought it was OK…”

There’s no excuse. None. Good luck on re-election, Merkel. You’re going to need it.
