April 8, 2017President Trump just sent a letter to Congress, defending his decision to approve the U.S. strikes on a Syrian airbase. Critics say he should’ve checked with Congress first, but that’s up for debate. Was this an act of war? No. It was a proportional response to Assad’s most recent crime against humanity.
“I acted in the vital national security and foreign policy interests of the United States,” Trump said in the letter.
