This makes me sick to my stomach, y’all.
We had someone call our radio show today, who told our producer that the Cash Me Ousside girl is getting a bunch of money to show up for various appearances. I couldn’t believe that could possibly be true, so I looked it up and found that link. And according to the sourcelink, the Cash Me Ousside girl, that horrific teenaged nightmare named Danielle Bregoli, who is now infamous because of the epic seahaggery she displayed on the Dr. Phil show towards her equally horrific mom AND THE REST OF THE WORLD, now has “representatives” and fetches FORTY THOUSAND DOLLARS to show up at meet and greets.
The Rolling Loud Music Festival is paying her at least $40k to simply show up and be her despicable, foul-mouthed, obnoxious self, and they plan to throw her a party for her 14th birthday as well, from which she’ll make a percentage of the ticket sales.
Do you realize what this means? This means that there are a) people willing to pay Danielle Bregoli money to show up at places and therefore b) people willing to PAY to see this monster in person.
Why? Why does our society insist on rewarding terrible behavior in this way?
I blame the Kardashians. And Charlie Sheen. And all of the horrible, terrible celebrity monsters who came before them, and all of the consumers of their products. Because without a complicit audience holding their wallets open, the Danielle Bregolis of the world would be ostracized, and fade into obscurity where they belong.
And listen – don’t come after us for simply reporting on and mocking these lunatics. We’re not the ones keeping them relevant. No. The people keeping them relevant are the idiots who PAY to see them. They’re the people who pay for the Kardashians’ website subscriptions, and their make-up, and their video games. They’re the people who watch their shows, and who buy magazines that feature them. Those people MUST BE CRITICIZED.
According to Danielle’s “representatives” (and notice that’s plural?), she now commands a minimum of $30k for any US-based appearances. And if she’s asked to show up somewhere outside the states? It’s a minimum of 40 grand.
REMINDER: This is a girl who did nothing but make an absolute fool of herself on television. That’s it. That’s all she’s done.
If you are a person who in any way contributes to the income of that girl, YOU ARE THE REASON our culture is so completely f*cked.
GAWD.
