ALL RIGHT! They caught the guy!
This morning, you probably saw that police were looking for Ahmad Khan Ramani, a suspect in the Chelsea bombings that happened this weekend in New York City.
Seemingly unrelated, reports came in that there were shots fired in New Jersey roughly near the area where somebody tried to bomb a Marine charity race on Saturday –
Funnily enough, that’s where they caught Ramani. In New Jersey –

Now, it’s not clear yet if he had anything to do with the attack in New Jersey – or if indeed the two attacks were linked at all. But the New York NBC affiliate is calling Rahami a suspect in both bombings –
Ahmad Rahami, a naturalized 28-year-old native of Afghanistan, was taken into custody after a gun battle with police in Linden, New Jersey, a senior law enforcement official said.
Rahami was taken into custody after firing at police officers in Linden, the official said.
At least one officer was shot in the chest during the takedown, but was not seriously wounded because he was wearing a bullet proof vest. Rahami was also wounded in the shootout.
We’ll probably have more info as the day goes on, so check back for updates. But the good news is that they caught the guy!
