I was raised in the South. Georgia, to be exact. And I went to University of Tennessee for undergraduate school, so I bleed orange and white. And this time of year is basically the best time of the year for me, y’all. It’s SEC football time. I love love LOVE me some good ol’ southern football and all the traditions that come with it.
So you can imagine the WTHs that went through my head when I read about Ole Miss abandoning the classic song “Dixie” from their football games.
There’s nothing in the lyrics that’s racist about the song. Social justice warriors just have a problem with the South, it seems. And history. And so they want to erase it.
And they’re succeeding, apparently.
Our good friend Todd Starnes wrote about this, and we also talked about it with him yesterday at WIBC in Indy:
Out of hand.
