Remember that oh-so-patriotic flag burning protest the anti-police group "Disarm NYPD" had planned just in time for the 4th of July weekend in New York City? Some bikers and veterans got wind of the event and actually showed up for a counter-protest. Turns out, veterans don't really like it when a bunch of anti-police punks say they're going to burning the American flag. And there are more than a handful of burly biker dude who didn't take kindly to the idea either.
The Blaze reported on the story and actually has video of the counter-protesters chasing the activists out of the park (Warning: Strong Language) –
More details from the article –
Flocking to Brooklyn’s Fort Greene Park, individuals opposed to burning the U.S. flag waited for the “Disarm NYPD” group to arrive. While most urged for peace, several bikers threatened violence toward anyone who would burn the American flag.“We’re here to f*** up tiny liberal punks,” a biker who refused to identify himself told TheBlaze.Seemingly intimidated by the large group gathered in support of the American flag, the anti-police activists decided to change plans.About 30 minutes after the scheduled flag burning was supposed to begin, the group set fire to one flag at a far corner of the park away from counter protesters.
Here's a photo of the protesters trying to burn a flag, but all they could get was a corner of it before counter-protesters came after them –

The best part (besides a bunch of bikers showing up to present opposition to Disarm NYPD, that is)? The police were actually ON HAND at the protest and actively protected one of the anti-police protesters as she ran away (emphasis added) –
As one woman suspected of being with the anti-police group left the park, a crowd gathered around her.“Shame, shame, shame!” some shouted toward the woman as officers provided her with protection.
Well, well, well – look at that. You don't mind police protecting you, even as you are protesting supposed injustice perpetrated by those very same police officers.
Funny how that works.
